GE-REAGAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - Deadline January 4, 2018

Honoring the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th President, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education.

Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Awards are for undergraduate study and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. In addition, Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program and receive ongoing leadership-development support.

To be eligible for this award, applicants must:

• demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
• demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
• be citizens of the United States of America;
• be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and
• plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.

In addition, semifinalists must be nominated by an eligible community leader, such as a high school principal, elected official or executive director of a nonprofit organization, and must provide documentation to certify academic performance and financial need. Finalists will be interviewed via Skype or telephone by a member of the selection committee. 

Cutler-Bell Prize in High School Computing - Deadline Jan. 5, 2018

 The program is designed to recognize talented high school students intending to continue their higher education in the areas of computer science or technology. The program seeks to promote and encourage the field of computer science, as well as to empower young and aspiring learners to pursue computing challenges outside of the traditional classroom environment.Up to four winners will be selected annually and each will be awarded a $10,000 prize which will be administered through the financial aid department at the university the student will attend.  Eligible applicants for the award will include graduating high school seniors residing and attending school in the US. Challenges for the award will focus on developing an artifact that engages modern computing technology and computer science. Judges will look for submissions that demonstrate ingenuity, complexity, relevancy, originality, and a desire to further computer science as a discipline.

Thea Foundation Scholarship Competitions 

Thea annually awards $80,000 across six scholarship categories to thirty graduating seniors from all corners of the state. In eleven years, Thea has distributed $2.5 million in scholarships to 225 students gifted in the arts. No GPA requirement.  Scholarships will be awarded to the students institutions of choice, regardless of planned major. The student need not be majoring in an arts-related field to receive and utilize the scholarship. Violation of the declaration of student work as authentic will result in forfeiture of the scholarship application.

Lenoir-Rhyne University Teaching Scholars scholarship program - Deadline January 10, 2018 (Priority Deadline-applications will continue to be accepted until all spaces are filled)

Lenoir-Rhyne University is proud to serve aspiring teachers through the Lenoir-Rhyne Teaching Scholars program. Prospective students are encouraged to apply immediately as space is limited. This is a highly competitive program and applicants should have a record of academic excellence and portray a deep desire to serve students through a career in teaching. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by January 10th, however, applications will continue to be accepted beyond this date until all spaces are filled. 

Asian and Pacific Islanders American Scholarship Fund - Deadline Jan. 11, 2018

 Since 2003, APIASF has distributed more than $60 million in scholarships to deserving AAPI students. APIASF manages two scholarship programs: APIASF's general scholarship and the Gates Millennium Scholars/Asian Pacific Islander Americans funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Chili Appreciation Society International, CASI, Scholarship - Deadline January 15, 2017

Students must attach a letter of reference, an essay about yourself and future goals, an official transcript, a copy of ACT/SAT scores, and a statement disclosing any family or business relationships with any CASI officer or director.  Students must also list separately leadership activities, community activities, future college, and future major.

SMU - Hunt Leadership Scholars Program- To be considered, students must submit this completed online application, including the Hunt Essay and YouTube statement, by January 15th  of the senior year. 

 Eligibility:

• Extraordinary leadership in high school 
• Rank in the top 25% of graduating class
• Composite SAT 1290+  or ACT 29+
• Completion of strong college prep curriculum featuring elements such as AP courses and honors classes.

Grissom Scholars Program - Deadline Jan. 20, 2018

Who is eligible?

• Strong personal character with a positive outlook, respect for diversity, and a mature nature; highly regarded among peers and staff

• Proven dedication to academic achievement, GPA that reflects intellectual ability and a strong work ethic
• High leadership potential as demonstrated through extracurricular involvement in community service, school activities, artistic endeavors, and paid or unpaid work

The program is reserved for first-generation college students. A student qualifies as a first-generation college student if his or her custodial parent(s)/guardian(s) have not completed a four-year college degree. Strong preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate substantial financial need and who reside in the United States.

American Indian College Fund

The American Indian College Fund was established in 1989 to provide scholarships to American Indian/Alaska Native students attending tribal colleges, and to fund and create awareness about the community-based accredited tribal colleges and universities that offer students access to knowledge and skills alongside Native culture, language, and values. The American Indian College Fund also provides scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students attending any other accredited public and non-profit private college all across the United States.

Applications are accepted from January 1 to May 31 each year.

Coolidge Scholars Program - Deadline Jan. 24, 2018 FOR JUNIORS

This is among the most generous scholarships in America: it is a full-ride scholarship that covers a student's tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study and leadership training to ANY accredited university in America.  This is open to students in the 11th grade.

Arkansas Sports Hall Of Fame Scholarship - Deadline January 31, 2017

In January, 2018, the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame (ASHOF) will award five $1,000 scholarships to Arkansas high school senior students who will be enrolling in an Arkansas college. These scholarships will be awarded to current high school seniors – both boys and girls are eligible – and all scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college that each student will be attending. CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY: 1.Must be a graduating senior from an Arkansas high school (AAA member) for school year 2017-2018.  2.Must be attending an Arkansas college or junior college (private or public) as a freshman the following fall 2018.  3.Must submit an essay to the ASHOF for evaluation postmarked or emailed by January 31, 2018. Address is noted below. All submissions after this date will not be considered.

Cherokee Nation Foundation Scholarships - Deadline: Jan. 31, 2018

The Cherokee Nation Foundation offers three differently funded scholarships: privately funded, tribal and institutionally based. There are numerous scholarships available.
