AACA Scholarship - Deadline March 1, 2019

The AACA also sponsors one scholarship in the amount of $750 for a high-school senior who will be enrolling as a freshman. Details of the scholarship are as follows:

  1. Current high school senior in the state of Arkansas.
  2. Student planning a course of study in the agricultural fields of entomology, agronomy or plant pathology.
  3. Students working toward a pest management related degree will be given priority.
  4. The scholarship winner will be chosen on the basis of grade point average (2.5 minimum GPA), financial need, leadership, participation in extra-curricular activities, and interest in pest management.
  5. The AACA will accept up to and no more than ten candidates for consideration by March 1st.
  6. The scholarship committee will review each petition and select the student to receive the $750.00 scholarship based on the criteria listed in item number four.  One scholarship will be awarded. 

 

Junior League of Fort Smith Scholarship - Deadline March 1, 2019

Application Requirements

1)  Must be 21 years of age or younger,

2)  Be a high school senior, a high school graduate, or have a G.E.D.

3)  Have been placed in Arkansas State foster care while a resident of Sebastian County, Crawford County, Franklin County, Logan County, Scott County, Johnson County, or Yell County.  

The applicant must be currently or previously placed in foster care for a period of 30 days or longer. 

4)  Provide high school transcript showing a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Thea Foundation Scholarship Competitions 

Thea annually awards $80,000 across six scholarship categories to thirty graduating seniors from all corners of the state. In eleven years, Thea has distributed $2.5 million in scholarships to 225 students gifted in the arts. No GPA requirement.  Scholarships will be awarded to the students institutions of choice, regardless of planned major. The student need not be majoring in an arts-related field to receive and utilize the scholarship. Violation of the declaration of student work as authentic will result in forfeiture of the scholarship application.

This program is highly competitive and enrolls 225 new scholars each year based on academics, leadership, and active participation in extracurricular activities and community involvement.

  •  Minimum 3.0 GPA & ACT score: 19+
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Current resume and essay of up to 500 words on the importance of leadership and service to the community (recommended)
  • On-campus interview required for finalists
  • Must live in West Hall

UCA Windgate Art Scholarship  Deadline  March 15, 2019

For full-time or part-time art majors. Selection based on talent and financial need. Award: Up to $2,000 per semester in the freshman year, based on amount of financial need. Renewable for three years with completion of at least 6 hours (3 in art) for part-time students and 12 hours (6 in art) for full-time students, submission of portfolio in spring semester of each year, 3.0 GPA in major, and good standing with the university. The scholarship can increase up to $1,000 each year so that in senior year, up to $5,000 per semester may be awarded. Increases in the scholarship amount are based on review of financial need.

 

The American Legion Coudret Trust Scholarship - Deadline: March 12, 2019

The American Legion, Dept. of Arkansas, is offering eight $1000.00 scholarships and four $2500.00 scholarships. Selections are based upon American spirit, character, leadership quality, scholastic endeavor, and basis of need.

Arkansas Federal Credit Union Scholarship - Deadline March 16, 2018

The applicant must be a member or child of a member with Arkansas Federal Credit Union in good standing who meets all of the following criteria:

  • The member/child of member is a college-bound high school senior at the time of application.
  • The member/child of member is attending college for the first time in the fall of 2018.
  • The member/child of member will be enrolled in either a two- or four-year educational institution.
  • The member/child of member agrees to use any scholarship funds awarded by August 31, 2018, at an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education. 
  • Employees and AFCU volunteers and children of employees or AFCU volunteers are not eligible.

 

Student of the Year Scholarship- Open March 26-May 10 2019

We offer a $2500 scholarship to the high school candidate who raises the most money in this region for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society from March 26-May 10, 2019.  Potential candidates can nominate themselves or others by clicking the link to our local website, NWA Student of the Year Campaign$1 = 1 vote. Leading a student campaign for LLS is a great way for sophomores and juniors to round out college applications/resumes while raising money for blood cancer research and patient support, however, all grades 9th-12th can participate. The $2500 scholarship is just the icing on the cake. Throughout the campaign all candidates and their team members can earn valuable community hours and can receive a letter of recognition from our staff to help stand out among college applicants, regardless of if they win or not. Plus, not many kids can say they helped save lives in high school.

 

FSPS Scholarships and Grants -  March 25, 2019 These applications are used to determine several scholarships that will all go to FSPS students. 

Benny L. Gooden, Superintendent of Fort Smith Public Schools from 1986 to 2016 served as President of the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) — The School Superintendents Association during 2012-2013. In consideration of service to the association, an honorarium was paid to the Fort Smith Public Schools. Dr. Gooden recommended, and the Fort Smith Board of Education approved, establishing the Benny L. Gooden AASA Scholarship fund with the Fort Smith Public Schools Foundation. A matching contribution from the Windgate Foundation and continuing contributions from Dr. Gooden have made it possible for the scholarship to be endowed for perpetuity. The number and amounts of scholarships will be determined annually depending upon the earnings of the endowment. Criteria for Recipients Applicants for scholarships from this fund must turn in application on or before March 25, 2019. Scholarship awards may also be made on behalf of Sam T. Sicard and in memory of Dr. Randy Bridges from the application pool collected each particular year.

 

SAME Scholarship for Engineering - Deadline March 27, 2019

The Arkansas Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is pleased to announce the availability of college scholarships.  The Arkansas Post will offer a minimum of two $2000.00 scholarships to superior graduating high school seniors.  

 

AAA/Centennial Bank Scholar Program - Deadline March 28, 2019

The Arkansas Activities Association and Centennial Bank will provide ten senior student-athletes with a $1,000 college scholarship for the 2018-19 school year. The Scholarships will be provided for athletic achievement and community service. Boys: Five (5) Scholarships Girls: Five (5) Scholarships

 

The Arkansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (AASFAA) Scholarship- Deadline March 29, 2019

AASFAA will award at least two $500 scholarships to Arkansas students planning to attend member institutions.  These are non-renewable awards. Scholarship winners must be enrolled at least half time in 2016-2017 in a program that leads to a college degree or certificate at an AASFAA member institution.  Limit one entry per person. Winners will be selected at a random drawing during the 2016 Spring AASFAA Conference.  

 

Argenta Reading Series High School Writing Contest - Deadline March 30, 2019

Winner will receive $1,000, and three other finalists will receive $500 each.

ELIGIBILITY:

Entrants must meet all of the following criteria:

Must be a student in grade 10-12 at an Arkansas high school or have earned a GED within 12 months of the contest entry deadline.

Must attend an accredited Arkansas college or university after graduation.

If chosen as a finalist, entrants must be able to read the piece in front of a live audience at Argenta Reading Series in North Little Rock on May 5, 2018.

Carl Tapp Technician Scholarship - Deadline March 30, 2019

Arkansas Trucking Association is pleased to announce it is accepting applications for a scholarship opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career as a medium and heavy duty truck technician. ATA has established the Carl Tapp Memorial Scholarship Fund to encourage growth in the state’s technician workforce and to help assure that the safest, most knowledgeable and skilled technicians are working on the trucks and trailers on our nation’s roads.

 

Ralph G. Norman Scholarship Application - Deadline March 31, 2018

The Ralph G. Norman Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $2000 to an individual with a documented learning disability who will be enrolled in the fall semester of 2014 at a university, two year community college, or a vocational/technical training program. 

Criteria: 

  • Be an Arkansas resident
  • Be ineligible for SSI and SSD funding
  • Be able to provide most current documentation of an identified learning disability

Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship for Future Female Teachers - March 31, 2019

Alpha Delta Kappa is an international organization for female educators.  We are an altruistic group.  One of our monetary projects is to give a scholarship of $750 to a high school woman who is planning to attend college to receive a degree in education with the desire of becoming a teacher.
