Arkansas Alumni Association Scholarship - Priority Deadline: Dec. 1, 2015/Final Deadline: Feb. 1, 2016

 

Arkansas Tech University Honors Program-Deadline December 1, 2015

Formal acceptance into Arkansas Tech University's Honors Program is contingent on the following requirements:

 

Henderson State Scholarship Application

Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis as long as institutional scholarship funds are available. 

 

Missouri State Multicultural Leadership Scholarship - Deadline Dec. 1, 2015

$5,000 per year. Total potential value over four years: $20,000. Non-Missouri residents will also receive a full waiver of non-resident fees.  

Rank in the upper one-half of their class (or 3.00 grade point average on a 4.00 scale) at the end of the sixth semester and have demonstrated leadership in multicultural school or community activities or organizations.

The Multicultural Leadership Scholarship Selection Committee will review applicants and select candidates to be invited to campus for interviews to be held on the Missouri State campus. Recipients will be selected following the interview process.  Students selected to interview for the Multicultural Leadership Scholarship will also be considered for the Multicultural Leadership Recognition Award. Prospective education majors will also be considered for the Diversity in Education Scholarship.

 

Missouri State Presidential Scholarship - Deadline Dec. 1, 2015

$12,500 per year ($6,250 for tuition and $6,250 for on-campus housing). Total potential value over four years is $50,000. Non-Missouri residents will also receive a full waiver of non-resident fees.  

Rank in the top 10 percent of class (or have a 3.90 grade point average on a 4.00 scale) at the end of the sixth semester and have an ACT of 30 (or SAT of 1330*). ACT or SAT scores taken during or before October of the senior year will be considered.  Finalists will be selected following an on-campus interview process. Qualified students who apply but are not chosen will receive the Board of Governors Scholarship and be considered for the University Scholarship.

 

The Jefferson Scholarship at the University of Virginia - Deadline Dec. 1st, 2015

Intended to cover the entire cost of attendance for four years at the University of Virginia, the Jefferson Scholars’ stipend includes tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, board, and personal expenses. In 2013-14, Jefferson Scholars from the Commonwealth of Virginia will receive over $26,000 each year, and out-of-state or international Jefferson Scholars will receive an annual stipend of over $53,000. In addition to the financial component of the Scholarship is an extensive enrichment program which aims to support and nurture these students throughout their four years at U.Va.  If interested, see your counselor about nomination.   

 

University of Arkansas at Little Rock Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship -Priority Deadline December 1, 2015

The Chancellor's Leadership Corps (CLC) is a comprehensive scholars program that focuses on learning, leading, and serving the community.  They offer around 175 scholarships each year. These scholarships are renewable up to 4 years.  The award amount can be up to $8,000 a year and up to $32,000 for four years.  Our focus is on those students who have displayed leadership and active community service in high school.  We look for those students who have at least 3.0 GPA but a maximum ACT score is not required for an offer. 

 

License2HOWL Scholarship at Arkansas State - Deadline Dec. 4th, 2015

The A-State Alumni Association offers License2HOWL scholarships funded by sales of the A-State license plates. Each year, five incoming freshmen will receive $5,000 ($2,500 for the fall semester and another $2,500 for the spring semester). Students who receive the A-State Scholar scholarship will not be considered, but incoming freshmen are urged to apply for all scholarships for which they qualify. These scholarships are renewable; recipients must remain a full-time student in good standing and have a minimum 3.25 GPA. They must also submit a renewal essay as directed by the Alumni Association in November of each year.

 

2015 Scholarship Points Awards - Deadline December 8, 2015

To be eligible:

Be at least 13 years old and enrolled or will enroll in a college or university.

Be a legal resident of the U.S. or Puerto Rico.

 

AAFC Scholarship - Deadline December 14, 2015

The Arkansas Association of Federal Coordinators (AAFC) is offering the "AAFC Scholarship" to high school seniors to supplement college costs beginning their freshman year.  This scholarship award is $1,000.00 for the first Academic Year. It will be awarded to full-time students who enroll in an Arkansas college or university, including junior colleges, community, vocational, or technical colleges, and who plan to major in education.

Basic eligibility requirements include:
1. Remain in school for eight (8) consecutive semesters or until graduating requirements have been met.
2. Minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale.
3. Good citizenship record.  No suspensions or expulsions.
4. Membership in a service or academic organization (extracurricular activity may be substituted).
5. Letter of recommendation from principal, teacher, or counselor, and a non-family member.  Three letters of
            recommendation are required.
6. Plan to work in the field of Education.

 

UAFS Freshman Prestigious Scholarships - Deadline Dec. 15, 2015 

 

UALR Chancellor's Leadership Corps (CLC) Scholars Program Priority Deadline: Dec.1, 2014/Preferred Deadline: Feb. 1, 2015/Final Deadline: April 1, 2015

This is a comprehensive scholars program that focuses on learning, leading, and serving the community. These scholarships are renewable for 4 years. The ward amount can be up to $8,000/year. To be considered you must have a complete application for admission on file along with the completed scholarship application.

 

Barbara Lotze Scholarships for Future Teachers - Future Physics Teacher - Deadline: Dec. 1, 2014

Undergraduate students enrolled, or planning to enroll, in physics teacher preparation curricula and high school seniors entering such programs are eligible. Successful applicants receive a stipend of up to $2,000. The scholarship may be granted to an individual for each of four years.

 

Elks MVS Scholarship - Deadline Dec. 4, 2015 (Turn into the Elks Lodge - address below)**Turn before 7:00 p.m. To turn in earlier than Dec. 4th students should make arrangements with Jan Stone.

500 four-year scholarships, ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, for graduating high school seniors based on financial need, leadership and scholarship.

In the past 6 six years, high school seniors in the  Fort Smith area have received over $110,000 in scholarship money.

Lyceum Scholarship at Clemson University - Deadline Dec. 8, 2015

All Lyceum Scholars receive a $10,000 scholarship, which is disbursed over their four years at Clemson University. In exchange for this scholarship, students in the program take a sequence of eight courses with the other Lyceum Scholars in their graduating class. In these classes, Lyceum Scholars study the moral principles of a free society, the political ideals of the American Founding and the economic foundations of capitalism.Candidates must apply (and be accepted) to Clemson University as incoming Freshmen. Successful candidates will be of a high intellectual caliber, as demonstrated through academic achievement and test scores in their high school careers, and must be passionate about ideas, intellectual engagement and the subject matter of the Lyceum Scholars Program.

Arkansas Chamber Singers Vocal/Choral Music Scholarship - Deadline December 18, 2015

The Arkansas Chamber Singers Vocal/Choral Music Scholarship is available to any graduating senior from a public or private high school in Arkansas. The student must have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 and must major in music with emphasis in choral or vocal performance at an accredited four-year institution of higher education. A high school transcript must accompany the application to document the grade point average. The student applicant must also be enrolled in the choral music program (curriculum) at the high school in which he or she attends. The First Place $1,000 and Second Place $500 music scholarship award will be paid directly to the student upon verification of college enrollment.

Who Can Apply

Any undergraduate student currently enrolled in an accredited US college or university with a minimum of 9 credits and a GPA of 3.0 may apply. High school graduates with a GPA of 3.2 or higher and already accepted at an accredited college/university may also apply. There are no requirements for major or graduation date.

 

NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award - Apply online between Oct. 1st and Dec. 18th (2014)

NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards are open to any graduating high school senior entering their freshman year at an accredited (not for profit) two- or four-year university, college or vocational/technical institute. Applicants MUST be running their own small business in order to be considered for an award.

This year, thanks to VISA, 95 Awards will be $2000 each, 3 Awards will be $10,000 each, 1 Award will be $15,000, and 1 will be $25,000!

Odenza Marketing Group Volunteer Scholarship ($500) -  Deadline: Dec. 30, 2015

The main goal of the Odenza Marketing Group Volunteer Award is to encourage students to make a positive contribution to their individual communities, while providing scholarship awards to those who have done so over the previous 12 months.

ELIGIBILITY
A) Be between the ages of 16 and 22 on December 30th, 2015
B) A student must also possess a GPA of 2.5 or higher in his/her last academic year.
C) A student must have contributed at least 50 hours of volunteer (non-paid) service within his/her community over the last 12 months. Please ensure that you have completed this amount of hours and that a person within the organization(s) is willing to confirm that you have volunteered this amount of time. (Note that we will only contact the organization(s) in the event that you are chosen as the scholarship award winner.)
D) A student must be a resident of Canada or the United States and must attend a school in Canada or the United States.

 

The American Legion High School Oratorical Contest - Deadline December 31st, 2015

The Oratorical Contest presents participants with an academic speaking challenge that teaches important leadership qualities, the history of our nation's laws, the ability to think and speak clearly, and an understanding of the duties, responsibilities, rights and privileges of American citizenship.  The scholarship winner will receive a $1500.00 scholarship and compete at the National level.

CrossLites Scholarship - Deadline December 31, 2015

The CrossLites Scholarship Contest is open to High School, College, and Graduate School students. As an applicant you will write a reflective essay (400-600 words) based on one of Dr. Parker’s quotes or messages. Applicants will be competing against students of their level. You may enter only one essay per application a year, into the contest.
How Does A Student Like You Win?  The judges score essays based on the following factors:
A) Originality
B) Reflection – how the quote relates to something in your life
C) Punctuation/Grammar
D) Content – the judges have the right to refuse any essay that contains inappropriate language
