Prudential Spirit of Community - Deadline Nov. 6, 2019

Apply for a 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Award and you could win $1,000 and a trip to Washington, D.C., next May!

• Complete application and the student/parent agreement by Nov. 4, 2015.
• After submitting the application electronically, send Mrs. Miller your application as well (electronically or a hard copy).
• The school's top applicant will be selected by Nov. 15. 

 

The Belk Scholarship at Davidson College-Deadline November 9, 2019

Students must be nominated (see you guidance counselor)

Nominees must submit a completed admission application.

Finalists will attend the Selection Weekend on Davidson Campus in March 2020. 

 

NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing-Deadline November 5th, 2019

The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing honors young women at the high-school level for their computing-related achievements and interests. Awardees are selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education. 

 

Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship - Deadline Nov. 12, 2019
The Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship is a one-time $2,500 scholarship awarded to a graduating high school senior with a documented learning disability (LD) and/or ADHD who will be enrolled in a two-year community college, a vocational or technical training program, or a specialized program for students with LD and/or ADHD in the fall.

To be eligible for the Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship, an applicant must:

• Be a graduating high school senior who will be attending a two-year community college, a vocational/technical training program, or specialized program for students with LD and/or ADHD in the fall.
• Submit current financial information
• Provide most current documentation of an identified learning disability and/or ADHD (e.g., psycho-educational report, neuropsychological evaluation, IEP or 504 plan) and has utilized services, supports and/or accommodations.
• Please note: LD and ADHD can co-occur with other issues such as speech/language, hearing and vision, and autism spectrum disorders; to be eligible candidates must provide documentation of a specific LD and/or ADHD. 
• Be a United States citizen

 

Anne Ford Scholarship - Deadline Nov. 12, 2019
The Anne Ford Scholarship is a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500/year over four years) granted to a graduating high school senior with a documented learning disability (LD) and/or ADHD who will be enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program in the fall.

To be eligible for the Anne Ford Scholarship, an applicant must:

• Be a graduating high school senior who will be attending a four-year bachelor’s degree program in the fall
• Have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4-point scale (or equivalent)
• Submit current financial information
• Provide most current documentation of an identified learning disability and/or ADHD (e.g., psycho-educational report, neuropsychological evaluation, IEP or 504 plan) and has utilized services, supports, and/or accommodations.

Elks Lodge Most Valuable Student Scholarship - Deadline November 15, 2019

Are you looking for college scholarships?  Consider applying for the Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship.  Each year, 500 4-year MVS Scholarships are awarded in amounts ranging from $4,000 to $50,000.   No affiliation to the Elks is needed.  It is open to any high school Senior who is an American citizen and planning to attend an accredited American college.

In the past 6 years, over $120,000 has been awarded to Fort Smith area seniors.  Almost every year, we have had local Lodge winners advance to become State finalists and many to the national level receiving scholarship money.

James Alan Cox Foundation Photographer Scholarship - Deadline November 15, 2019

Are you a budding photojournalist? Then this scholarship is for you. Founded in memory of James Alan Cox, a television photojournalist, The James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists aims to provide financial support to student photographers of high school and college age. Break out your camera, get your portfolio together, and check out this scholarship. 

 

Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship Program - Deadline November 20, 2019

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation offers the largest scholarships available to exceptionally high achieving, low-income students. Scholars receive up to $40,000 a year to cover tuition, living expenses, books and other fees. Cooke Scholars come from every state with no restriction on background, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, political affiliation or citizenship status.  

At a minimum, applicants must:

• Plan to graduate from a US high school in spring 2018
• Intend to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2018
• Earn a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above
• SAT combined critical reading and math score of 1200 or above and/or ACT composite score of 26 or above
• Demonstrate significant unmet financial need. We will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000. However, we anticipate that a majority of scholarship recipients will be eligible to receive a Pell grant 

 

Education Matters Scholarship - Deadline November 30, 2019

While continuing your education takes time, and money, there's a certain value that everyone is hoping to achieve. Our Education Matters Scholarship is giving you the chance to state why education matters. Why does education matter to you? What is the value you hope to receive from college? What would you do to convince the college cynics?

Speaking up for education could lead to helping you pay for your own. One applicant will be awarded our $5,000 Education Matters Scholarship

$5,000 annually, non-renewable. The scholarship will be in the form of a check made payable to the accredited postsecondary institution of higher education attended by the recipient.

 

Sixt Rent a Car Scholarship - Deadline Nov. 30, 2019

Applicants to the Sixt Scholars Program must -

• Be graduating high school seniors within the United States.
• Plan to enroll in full time undergraduate study at an accredited two year or four year college or university for the entire 2017-2018 academic year.
• Have a minimum grade point average of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to five (5) awards will be granted each year. Awards are one time only. Past recipients may not reapply.
