Make Me Laugh Scholarship - Deadline August 31, 2019

Scholarships can be fun! Take a break from the boring application routine and make us laugh. That's right; we want a real LOL moment.

Submit an online short written response (250 words or less) for the question:
"OMG... finding and applying for scholarships is serious business, but it's time to lighten things up a little. We don't want to know why you deserve $1,500 or how great your grades are, we simply want to LOL. Describe an incident in your life, funny or embarrassing (fact or fiction), and make us laugh!"

 

You Deserve It Scholarship - Deadline August 29, 2019

$1000 award.  To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

A) be a US resident.

B) be 16 years of age or older.

 

UAFS Essay Contest - Deadline September 26, 2019

The University of Arkansas in Fort Smith is holding an essay contest in conjunction with a First Amendment and Free Speech Symposium.  The essay topic is "Which of the five freedoms articulated in the First Amendment (speech, press, religion, assembly, petition the government for redress of grievances) is most critical to our society over the next 10 years, and why?"  Click link for more details. 

 

ROTC National Scholarships - Deadline September 29, 2019

The Four-Year High School Scholarship is for high school students planning on attending a four-year college program. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be between the ages of 17 and 26
  • Have a high school GPA of at least 2.50
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Score a minimum of 920 on the SAT (math/verbal) or 19 on the ACT (excluding the required writing test scores)
  • Meet physical standards
  • Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component (Army Reserve or Army National Guard)

YOUR COMMITMENT

  • An eight-year service commitment with the Army.
  • Serve full time in the Army for four years and four years with the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR).
  • Selected Cadets may choose to serve part time in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career

 

Don't Text and Drive Scholarship - Deadline September 30, 2019

You must be a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior or a current or entering college or graduate school student of any level. Home schooled students are also eligible. There is no age limit. You must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.  Complete the application form including a 140-character message about texting while driving. The top 10 applications will be selected as finalists. The finalists will be asked to write a full length 500- to 1,000-word essay about texting while driving.  The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
